Lampranthus spectabilis, commonly known as the Trailing Ice Plant, is a spreading, prostrate succulent known for its vibrant, long-lasting blooms. The plant features narrowly 3-angled to cylindrical, keeled mid-green leaves (5–8 cm), often tinged with red.
From summer to early autumn, it produces striking reddish-purple flowers, 5–7 cm wide, with occasional white variants. This hardy succulent thrives in coastal conditions, tolerates high sun, wind, and drought, but does not withstand strong frost.
Ideal for rock gardens, ground cover, borders, and coastal landscapes.
