Tillandsia Lonantha Red Clumb

Tillandsia Ionantha red clumb – Air Plant is a beautiful air plant with thin spiky leaves with many trichomes that give the leaves a silvery look. These plants do need a humid environment to thrive, so a bright bathroom or steamy kitchen would be ideal. Very prolific Ionanthas that quickly form into a bigger ball.  They are really very hardy, and require much less attention than other house plants. When the plant is about to bloom, it changes to shades of vibrant deep red to orange and eventually displays yellow/purple/white tubular flowers. Ionantha blooms 2 or 3 times a year. It creates many offsets or pups which will clump into a ball as it matures.
